Pair charged with conspiracy

BETHLEHEM — Bank employees on Monday were able to stall two people from Albany who were trying to cash a forged payroll check until police could arrive to arrest them, according to a release from the Bethlehem Police Department.

Staff at the Capital Communication Federal Credit Union on Bender Lane in Glenmont called police at 1:13 p.m., the release said.; police arrived and investigated, determining that the check was fraudulent.

Kayla N. Drayton, 21, was charged with felony criminal possession of a forged instrument and misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree attempted grand larceny and fifth-degree conspiracy.

Jah-Sief N. Tucker, 20, was charged with fifth-degree conspiracy, a misdemeanor.

Both were arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court and remanded to the Albany County’s jail. A return court date has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 18, at 4 p.m.
