McKownville home robbed during Sunday noon break-in

GUILDERLAND — Two people broke in to 3 Westlyn Court in McKownville on Sunday, taking jewelry, flatware, and other valuables, before speeding off onto Western Avenue, according to Guilderland Police Investigator Chuck Tanner.

Neighbors reported the crime, which occurred around noon, to the Guilderland Police Department, but Tanner said there have been two different accounts on the type of car involved; he said the car was most likely a gray Jeep or Durango-type vehicle.

According to the neighbor’s accounts, the burglars were in and out of the house in about 15 minutes, Tanner said.

There have been no leads, and the investigation is ongoing, said Tanner, adding that the robbery does not appear to be linked to any other crimes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Guilderland Police department at 356-1501.
