Two teens charged with stealing tobacco

GUILDERLAND — Two teens face felony burglary charges for stealing tobacco products from two gas stations in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 2, according to a release from New York State Police.

State Police based out of the Thruway Albany Barracks arrested the pair for burglarizing a Mobil Gas station at the Guilderland service area on the State Thruway near Exit 25. Investigators say the teens entered an unauthorized area for customers and stole several tobacco products before driving to a nearby Cumberland Farms gas station in Guilderland where they “committed similar offenses,” the release said.

Guilderland Police and troopers based out of the Guilderland barracks caught the teens “with the goods from both of their heists” during a traffic stop shortly afterwards, the release said.

Both were charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and fifth-degree conspiracy. They were arraigned in Guilderland Town Court and released to appear at a later date.
