Guilty verdict for shooting delivered for Guilderland man

ALBANY — A jury found a Guilderland man guilty of attempted assault last Thursday, according to a release from the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

Andre McCauley, 30, of Guilderland was accused of shooting a 26-year-old man he knew, “with intent to cause serious physical injury,” around 187 Bradford Street in Albany on July 27 last year, the release says; The man was grazed by the shot and survived.

The charge against McCauley is a class C violent felony, and he faces up to 15 years in state prison when he is sentenced on June 5, the release says.

Albany County Court Judge Roger D. McDonough presided over the case and it was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Steven Sharp.
