Rain won 146 t go away for teams

GUILDERLAND — A shutout and rain. Those were the themes for the Guilderland baseball team this week.

The Guilderland baseball team used the strong left arm of Greg Barcomb to beat Mohonasen, 7-0, last Wednesday. However, it was the last game the Dutch have played this week. The Dutch were rained out of their game against Colonie on Thursday and again on Tuesday. Also washed out were games against Christian Brothers Academy on Saturday and Columbia on Monday.

With last Wednesday’s win, the Dutch improved to 3-0, 2-0 in the Suburban Council.

Barcomb pitched a complete game four-hitter. He had six strikeouts in the contest.

Joe Lima had a three-run double in the first inning to pace the Dutchmen’s offense.

Guilderland was scheduled to play Wednesday against Niskayuna at home. The Dutch are scheduled to play at Saratoga on Friday, Schenectady on Saturday, and Catholic Central on Sunday. Guilderland then plays at Bethlehem on Monday.
