Scott charged with assault 151 again

GUILDERLAND — A man living at a hotel on Western Avenue has been arrested for assault for the second time in three months.

Tomah W. Scott, 23, lives at the Governor’s Motor Inn, and was arrested on April 5 for assault, unlawful imprisonment, contempt of court, and endangering the welfare of a minor, all misdemeanors.

Scott, who is originally from Binghamton, was arrested on Monday, at 9:19 a.m., after a complaint led to a police investigation. Guilderland Police say that Scott had assaulted an adult female “acquaintance” over the previous two days; he had refused to let her leave when she wanted, resulting in the charge of unlawful imprisonment.

Scott had been arrested in February at the Governor’s Inn for third-degree assault, against a male victim, and the recent, second assault violated a court order, directing him to refrain from such behavior, said Captain Curtis Cox, with the Guilderland Police.

At the time of the assault on the female, a 7-year-old was present, police said. The woman and the child’s name are being withheld.

Scott appeared before Judge John Bailey in the Guilderland Town Court, and was remanded to the Albany County Jail on $5,000 bail. He is set to return to court tonight.
