New hotel would help businesses in Guilderland

To the Editor:

I am writing this letter to voice my support for the Crossgates hotel project.

As a resident of Guilderland, I have been following this project closely. I currently work in the hospitality field in Guilderland and have previously worked at a local hotel, and know how valuable these facilities are to other local towns and the region as a whole.

Many businesses in this town are dependent on bringing in new traffic and having a project of this sorts would do just that. It would allow for people to use our town as a place to stay and patronize these shops and restaurants that the business folks have worked hard to build along Western Avenue and beyond.

Having a fresh-faced building would certainly dress up this area for those who choose to travel through it or stay in it. It would make the area look more vibrant and as a suburb just on the outside of the capital of the state, we should have a certain look, along with places of businesses that draw people in.

I am hoping that this is a project we will see happen in Guilderland!
