Pascuzzi pleads not guilty to manslaughter
GUILDERLAND — Tyler Pascuzzi, 26, of Coxsackie, was arraigned for allegedly driving drunk on July 4, 2014 and causing the death of two passengers as he drove over the speed limit and crashed on the Thruway in Guilderland.
Pascuzzi pleaded not guilty to the charges in court, and remains free on $250,000 bail.
He was arraigned on March 28 before Judge Thomas A. Breslin in Albany County Supreme Court, according to a release from the Albany County District Attorney’s Office, on two counts of second-degree manslaughter, three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, three counts of first-degree vehicular manslaughter, two counts of second-degree vehicular manslaughter — all felonies — and one count each of aggravated driving while intoxicated; driving while intoxicated, per se; driving while intoxicated, and reckless driving — all misdemeanors.
A grand jury had returned an indictment alleging Pascuzzi caused the deaths of Alicia Tamboia and Cody Veverka while recklessly driving in an intoxicated state while operating a 2004 Volkswagen R32 at speed in excess of the posted limit on I-90 in the town of Guilderland.
Vehicular Crimes Unit Bureau Chief Mary Tanner-Richter is prosecuting this case.
