To The Editor:

On behalf of the Kiwanis Club of the Helderbergs, I would like to thank all of the many people who helped make this year’s Maple Festival and Pancake Brunch a successful fundraiser and a fun community event.

We had wonderful volunteers helping from Berne-Knox-Westerlo Key Club, Pony Pals, and the Helderberg Hilltowns Association, along with a gang of local friends, neighbors, and Kiwanis family members who pitched in to prepare food, serve meals, wash dishes, and more.

We had a great group of vendors and exhibitors in the Knox firehouse, and the kids had outdoor fun with Sue Mason’s pony rides and petting zoo, and the Youth Council’s Easter egg hunt.

And we had fabulous support from all the members of the community who came out to have breakfast and enjoy the day with us.

Big thank-yous to all of these participants, as well as to the Knox Fire Company and Ladies’ Auxiliary for the use of their facilities, to Stewart’s for providing ice cream, and to the generous maple producers who donated syrup:  Randy and Sally Grippin at Mountain Winds Farm, Kathy and Brian Whipple at Malachi Farm, and Paul and Bernadette Lounsbury at their family farm.
