In June, the village of Altamont announced it was awarded $1.4 million for sidewalks, while Voorheesville announced it had received a $10,000 Clean Energy Communities grant from the state, and New Scotland this month accepted a $19,000 parks grant from Albany County.

On Aug. 7, the Guilderland Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on a proposal from Kent Hansen to turn the former Peter Young Center at 1180 Berne-Altamont Road into the Inns of Altamont.

GUILDERLAND — The chamber of commerce here is hosting a town-wide Restaurant Week, from Monday, July 15, through Monday, July 22.

Restaurant Week will feature special menus, discounts, and offers at participating restaurants for a fixed price of $24.24.

“This certification comes at an opportune time as the Town is in the process of updating the comprehensive plan and determining how we want our community to grow over the next 10 to 20 years,” said Kenneth Kovalchik.

Guilderland’s new school board president wants the district to do an audit of its special-education program and also wants to focus on curtailing antisemitism.

GUILDERLAND — The daughter of a woman who died after a brief stay at the nursing home in Guilderland Center is suing The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland for no less than $10 million to be determined at trial.
