BERNE — A Berne man was arrested on July 16, following a three-month investigation, for breaking into houses and stealing.

The state law, adopted in 2009, is named for Leandra Rosado, who was killed that year at age 11 in New York City when her friend’s mother, who was allegedly drunk, flipped the car, killing Rosado and injuring six other children.

The driver told police he did not see anyone in the roadway, but heard a “thump and a woman’s scream,” said the accident report.

GUILDERLAND — The United States Army Corps of Engineers, responsible for cleaning up formerly used defense sites, is seeking community interest in forming a restoration advisory board for the former Army Depot located where the Northeastern Industrial Park is now located.
