Until last Friday, the Guilderland girls' lacrosse team hadn't lost to a Suburban Council opponent since April 20, 2007.

Guilderland's team motto has become a good description for how the team has progressed into a champion.

It was a strong winter for Guilderland indoor track; three athletes made the state competition.

After 12 years, 196 victories, and five Section 2 titles, Gary Chatnik stepped down as the Guilderland girls' lacrosse coach. Chatnik's assistant, Carrie Britt, has filled the position.

Guilderland seniors, best friends, and training partners, Josh LoGiudice and Mike Lainhart, wrestled at States for the second consecutive year. 

 

It was Guilderland's Class AA title to lose.

The Blackbirds played like the best Class B basketball team all season, so a championship was only fitting.

GUILDERLAND — Mike Lainhart was worn out. He didn’t want to wrestle anymore, but said that his best friend bribed him into coming back.

This friend, Josh LoGiudice, said that it wasn’t a bribe, but it was a persuasion.
