GUILDERLAND — The next step in solving the school district’s problem of too much space for too few students will likely be the appointment of a citizens’ task force to study different ways of repurposing some classrooms.

Lillian Lorraine Yonally loved the freedom of flying and, now in her 90s, has fond and vivid recollections of the pilots — all women — she trained and flew with during World War II.

GUILDERLAND — Judy Slack is running for a third term on the school board because, she said, “I like feeling I’m doing something for the kids.”

Slack, who began her career as a high-school English teacher, worked for 24 years as a teaching assistant at Lynnwood Elementary School in Guilderland, retiring in 2008.

With three seats at play in the Guilderland School Board elections, only three petitions have been taken, two  by incumbents; candidates' petitions are due back on April 21.
