Girl Scouts need more leaders

To the Editor:

In Girl Scouts, we do fun stuff like camping, sleepovers, bake sales, food drives, community service, hanging out with our friends, fundraisers, eating cookies, etc.

We need more volunteers to help the Girl Scouts grow.  All the fun of being a leader is helping people, planning fun stuff for the girls to do — and most of all, having fun!

The reason we need more volunteers is because more girls want to do Girl Scouts, but there are not enough leaders.  Please try to be a Girl Scout leader today!  The grades that need the most help are first, third, and fourth.

Editor’s note: The letter writers are fifth-graders at Berne-Knox-Westerlo and are members of Junior Troop 1056, led by Tami Hanley and Carrie McDermott. They are working on their "Inside Government" badge for which the girls need to write on a topic of interest to them that deals with their community in some way.
