In the Village of Voorheesville held a village wide spring clean and green day to help beautify their village on Saturday April 29. There will be another one on May 6 at New Scotland Town Hall from 9am to noon.

The second day of Community Cares Days, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, will be held this coming Saturday, May 6, from 9 a.m. to noon at the New Scotland Town Hall.

Making the streets clean: Voorheesville firefighter John Hensel walked along Route 85A Saturday morning along with Augie Jones to pick up trash that lined the road.

Heavy lifting: Teammates from the Voorheesville varsity lacrosse team use their muscle to move a tree branch that came from the Vly Creek Saturday in Voorheesville during the Community Green Clean. The event was sponsored by the town of New Scotland, the village of Voorheesville, and the New Scotland Kiwanis.

Recycling: Volunteers help bring bags of clothes and other goods from cars and put them on tables to sort the donated items so they can go to various not-for-profit organizations. There was also a paper shredder at the Voorheesville firehouse that anyone could use to destroy important documents.
