KNOX — “How can we work together to promote the historical treasures of Albany County?” asked Marie Erkes at a gathering at Knox Town Hall on Saturday, June 14.

ALTAMONT — Victoria Acres Equine facility will be honored at the 2014 Heroes’ Breakfast on June 8 for offering assistance to military personnel reintegrating into civilian life.

Pine Hollow Arboretum, a not-for-profit nature preserve in Slingerlands, is hosting hundreds of students from 10 area schools for a series of educational field trips this month and next. The instruction and transportation costs are subsidized by Pine Hollow as a community service.

The Hilltowns Players will be presenting an encore presentation of its spring comedy, The Boardinghouse by Vern Harden.  The show will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 2 p.m. at the Thompsons Lake Reformed Church hall at the corner of Route 157 and Thompson's Lake Road.

CLARKSVILLE — Spend an entertaining, fun-filled hour with captain Henry Hudson and learn about his sailing career of some 400 years ago.  His third exploratory voyage, in 1609, brought him to Mannahatta, the “Island of Many Hills” which is today’s Manhattan Island.
