The Landis Arboretum in Esperance wants additional vendors at its annual plant sale. The dates are Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18.

The vendor cost for a booth space is $35, which includes both days.

CLARKSVILLE — It is the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, but do you know what our state did during this war, which was fought largely within the borders of New York?  This war is now a “huh?” event but it had impact in almost every region of the state. 

NEW SCOTLAND — The theme for this year’s Capital District African Violet Society violet show celebrates a number of “famous firsts,” including the first moon landing, tweet, postage stamp, telephone call, skyscraper, and airplane.

The Helderberg Kiwanis Club is raising funds with its annual pancake breakfast, and Maple producers will be open for tours.

ALTAMONT — On Saturday, May 3, the Altamont Parent-Teacher Association will hold the Albany area’s largest annual community sale.  Sales will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will be found throughout the entire area.

The event will take place rain or shine.
