Creativity Lab

Students in grades 5 and up are invited to join us at 1:30 p.m., Friday Feb. 21, to sew a cozy fleece scarf. Learn to use a rotary cutter and template, then you can have a boa scarf! Fleece and all other supplies provided, just bring along your creativity! Please register.

Make Your Own Videogame

Students in grades 4 through 8, do you want to learn how to create your own videogame? Join John Love at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 22, to learn game designing with Scratch, a free online, block-based visual programming language developed by the MIT Media Lab. Equipment is limited, so please register early.

Bored? Games!

Bring friends and family along to the library from 2 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 22, for games of all sorts, board games, Switch videogames on the big screen, Magic the Gathering battles and Pokemon card trading. There will be snacks! All ages, elementary school to adults; please register.

Family Literacy Program

Would you like to visit with Clifford and wish him a happy birthday? Barbara Lukas from WMHT and Clifford the Big Red Dog will be paying a special visit to the library from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23. Come enjoy some Clifford books, watch an episode of the show, make a Clifford puppet, sing happy birthday, eat a piece of birthday cake, and take a photo with our special doggie pal, Clifford! For ages Pre-K to grade 2 and their families. Please register.

Device Advice Drop-In

Drop-in technology help is the first Wednesday of the month (March 4) from 10 to 11 a.m. We will assist you with your questions about using the library’s digital services. Bring your device and account information with you, and we will show you how to download ebooks and audiobooks as well as other online services.

Time for Tomatoes

Join us at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26 to bring home some tomato seedlings. The Voorheesville Seed Library has many heirloom vegetable varieties and now is the perfect time to start your tomatoes and other early seeds. We’ll have everything you need. While you’re here, check out the rest of the seed collection and get ready for your spring crops.

Board meets

The February Board of Trustee meeting will start at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24, in the library community room. The public is always welcome.

Registering for programs helps us to determine supply needs. Unless otherwise indicated, registration is requested for all programs. You can register in person, by phone at 518-765-2791 or using our online calendar at http://voorheesvillelibrary.org/calendar.asp. You do not need to be a resident of Voorheesville to attend a program.
