Dem candidates will protect and preserve the future of the town

To the Editor:

Once again, the voters of the New Scotland will have to choose this coming Tuesday whether they wish to continue to preserve the rural character of our town or open it up to large, big-box type commercial development.

The Republican candidates for office have again all expressed their preference for large-scale commercial development.

Doug LaGrange, Patricia Snyder, Bill Hennessy, and Adam Greenberg, the town board candidates presented by the Democratic, Independent, and Conservative parties, have all pledged to continue a policy of limiting commercial development to a size the town can accommodate.

They are against development that will create traffic jams, criminal activity, and higher taxes.

I work with all of the above candidates as members of the current town board. I feel very confident that I am leaving town government in very capable hands.  They will continue to protect and preserve the future of our town.
