We were all there for the love of a boy — thank you

To the Editor:

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped to make our fifth annual Wyatt Spencer Memorial BKW Class of 2014 Golf Tournament such an awesome success last weekend.

Even though the weather was a big worry at the beginning of the week, at least the rain stayed away and we had a good day. “Thank you, Wyatt.”

All of our faithful golfers turned out and lots of new ones, too! Thank you, thank you.

You’ve just got to love our new home base; the course rocks. I hope it will keep you all coming back. We love you all.

We also had a lot of people there just to have dinner and take part in our incredible drawings. We had over 50 baskets this year. And all of these donations come from blue-collar businesses and people. And you know our community really is amazing.

We were all there for the love of a boy. And I know I was brought to tears a number of times that day. This fundraiser has grown because people care. And you could feel it in the room that night.

Yes, there were tears but there was more fun, laughs, and good times. And I know Wyatt would have loved that. And having his buds there all in one room and all of the good that we can do.

Thank you all so much.

I also want to say three of our scholarship recipients were at the tournament. It was so great to get to talk and see how you are all doing. Hope you guys come back.

And my committee: What can I say? Without them, this would not be a fundraiser. So, with all my heart, thank you — Kelley, Don, Kim, and Cathy. I love you guys.

I hope I covered everyone. I met and talked to so many people that day and night, I just want to make sure you know how much we appreciate your support. It was truly a great day.
