To the Editor:

We, the Helderberg American Legion Riders Post 977 of Altamont, are holding our Third Annual Poker Run to raise money for area organizations that support our veterans in need.

We invite all motorcycle enthusiasts to join us this Saturday, Aug. 29, for a scenic ride through Greene, Schoharie, and Albany counties. Registration is from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Voorheesville firehouse where breakfast sandwiches and coffee will be available.

There will be door prizes at each stop and a barbecue and a DJ at the final stop, the American Legion Post in Altamont. If you do not have a motorcycle and wish to join us for this event, you may come to the Legion Post around 4 p.m. The motorcycles will be arriving shortly after that.

Please join us in our ongoing effort to support our veterans and community. We look forward to seeing you.
