ACT on April 22 to green up your village

To the Editor:

As the song goes “Spring is busting out all over” and it’s time for the Altamont Green and Clean. This year’s date is Saturday, April 22.

Altamont Community Tradition invites everyone in the village to join in and engage in a cooperative spring cleaning and sprucing up of our wonderful parks and local streets. It’s a great day in the sunshine — weeding, mulching, and meeting your neighbors.

Come on out — we’ll provide garden waste bags and coffee, you bring your garden gloves and favorite gardening tools. Keith Lee, who regularly volunteers his time creating and maintaining many of the public green spaces around the village, will be coordinating our efforts.

Those who feel they aren’t the gardening type can volunteer to do a bit of housekeeping on a village street, by signing up to join your neighbors to clean up your block. There will be village supplied contractor bags at Orsini Park.

For more information and a signup sheet, go to www.altamontcommunitytradtion. (You don’t have to sign up, just show up, we’d love to see you.)

Come join us at Orsini Park in the heart of town at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 22. It’s fun and it will make you feel good.
