Back of school bus bumped by Berne woman

All is well: There were no injuries when a Berne woman rear-ended a Voorheesville Central School District bus carrying 11 students and a driver. 

VOORHEESVILLE — A 19-year-old Berne woman rear-ended a Voorheesville Central School District bus this morning that was carrying 11 students as well as the driver, according to a release from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office; there were no reported injuries.

Deputies responded at about 7:45 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, according to the release, which described events unfolding this way:

The school bus heading northwest on Maple Road began to slow down as a car entered in front it. The back of the bus was then struck by a Dodge Caravan driven by the Berne woman, causing minor damage to both vehicles. The Caravan had a 28-year-old male passenger, also from Berne.

The driver of the Caravan was issued a citation for following too closely
