Guilderland schoolhouse, Guilderland Center

The Guilderland school district is proposing to use $30,000 to repair the cobblestone schoolhouse on Route 146 in Guilderland Center, to prevent its deterioration. 

New Scotland

A Voorheesville mother raised concerns that  90 percent of Voorheesville sixth-graders have averages of 85 or higher — with 70 percent in the 90s — and yet, on the state’s standardized tests for math and English, only 20 to 30 percent score in the top category of four, for mastery.

In Altamont, Kerry Dineen, submitted the sole petition for mayor. She will be the village’s first female mayor and will serve for four years.

Twelve wrestlers from Guilderland and Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Voorheesville, made it to the state qualifiers at the Glens Falls Civic Center this past weekend but will advance no further.
