Trying something new: Last Sunday at Hudson Valley Community College, Guilderland’s Bella Bruno holds her pole before her first-ever competition in the pole-vault event. Bruno finished in fourth place, clearing 6 feet, then she went on to finish first in high jump, clearing 4 feet, 10 inches, and then taking first in the triple jump with a jump of 31 feet, 7.25 inches.

Big leaps: Guilderland’s Clarence Skipper is mid-air as he competes in the triple jump at a Hudson Valley Community College meet Sunday morning. Skipper finished second with a jump of 39 feet, 11.5 inches and also finished second in the long jump at 17 feet, 11.5 inches. Zavier Berry, also from Guilderland, waiting his turn in the background, won the triple jump, long jump, and high jump. The Guilderland boys’ indoor track team won the meet with 103.70 points.
