Lori A. Davenport

ALTAMONT — Lori A. Davenport, a devoted wife, loving mother, and avid horsewoman, died on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at home with her loving family, after a long fight with breast cancer. She was 54.

Mrs. Davenport graduated from Shaker High School in 1995, the New York College Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill in 1977, and Lake Erie College in 1979. She was employed by Ford Motor from 1987 to 2009.

Mrs. Davenport moved to Altamont in 1994 and owned Lordan Farms, where she raised the highest quality quarter horses and australian Shepherds, with her husband, Daniel, and her daughter, Chantel.

She was a licensed United States Equestrian Federation steward from 1992 to 2012.

“As a licensed steward, she upheld the standards of the USEF Horseshow Association throughout the country,” said her husband.

She also competed within the American Quarter Horse Association, from the regional to national level, with her husband and daughter.

“Lori’s proudest accomplishment includes the guidance and support she gave her daughter as she pursues her education, at Texas A&M University, in veterinary medicine,” her husband said.

In addition to her husband and daughter, Mrs. Davenport is survived by her parents, Robert and Joan LaBarge, and her brothers, Steven and Michael LaBarge.

Services are private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chantel Davenport Education Foundation Memorial Fund, care of SEFCU Bank, 763 Route 146, Altamont, NY 12009.
