Obituaries Archives The Altamont Enterprise, December 1, 2011 Lois M. Coons ALTAMONT Lois M. Coons, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died at home on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011. She was 91. Mrs. Coons was born on Dec. 22, 1919, in Holland, Mich., daughter of the late Raymond and Jeanette Knooihuizen. She was a secretary, employed by the Mt. Pleasant Public Library. She was a member of the Altamont Reformed Church, and served on its consistory. She is survived by three children, William H. Coons Jr., of Lebanon, N.H., David Coons, and his wife, Thea, of Pickerington, Ohio, and Mary Wallace, and her husband, Rick, of Altamont; five grandchildren, Alison Craver, and her husband, Richard, Adrean Kreig, and her husband, Glenn, Scott Coons, and his wife, Sarah, Kevin Coons, and his wife, Mariah, and Neil Coons, and his wife, Annie; and five great-grandchildren. Her husband, Reverend William Coons, died before her, as did her grandson, Christopher Coons. A funeral service was held on Nov. 27 at the Altamont Reformed Church. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Germantown Reformed Church Cemetery. Arrangementswere by the Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont. Memorial contributions may be made to a community hospice of one’s choice. |
