Greenberg wins first Scottish Games 5K 

ALTAMONT — The first-ever Scottish Games 5K race began and ended with the sound of bagpipes.

On Sunday, 44 runners, some of them wearing kilts, ran a 5K course that started and ended on the Altamont fairgrounds, covering parts of Brandle Road and the Altamont- Voorheesville Road.

Ben Greenberg, 41, of New Scotland, won the race with a time of 16:19. He was followed by Matthew Torniainen, 34, of Fultonville at 19:26, and Jason Peters, 36, of Schenectady at 19:57.

Rebecca Moore, 23, of Rensselaer, was the first female finisher with a time of 23:07. She was followed by Anne Payne, 48, of East Berne, at 24:27, and Jill Hogan, 53, of Schenectady, at 25:16.
