Guilderland Archives The Altamont Enterprise, October 1, 2009 GTA offers scholarships for future educators GUILDERLAND Guilderland High School seniors who plan to work in education may apply for a $2,000 college scholarship from the Guilderland Teachers’ Association. Briana Del Bene, who is now a student at The College of Saint Rose, was the 2009 recipient. The year before, Brittany Zadrozinski, now attending Le Moyne College, was chosen by a committee of teachers. Applicants are judged on their high-school average, class rank, results of their college entrance exams, financial need, teacher recommendations, school activities, and out-of-school responsibilities. The recipient gets $500 each year of college. Kristin Casini (née Knapp) received the GTA Memorial Scholarship and is now teaching social studies at Guilderland High School. Melissa Hale-Spencer |
