Jewelry store worker robbed making night deposit GUILDERLAND An armed robber stole a night deposit bag with several thousand dollars in cash from a jewelry store worker last weekend, according to a release from the Guilderland Police Department. At about 11 p.m. a Zale’s Jewelers employee was making a deposit at the Citizens Bank, located at 1516 Western Ave., when a person he described as a black man, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds approached him from behind the bank with a black handgun, the release says. The man was reportedly wearing a blue sweatshirt, black pants, and a bandana around his face, according to the release. “An exhaustive search of the area was conducted by the Guilderland Police Department with the assistance of the State University Police, New York State Police, and Albany Police Department with a canine,” the release says. “No suspects have been located at this point.” Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Guilderland Police Department at 356-1501. |
