Bertha Mae Hanna
GUILDERLAND Bertha Mae Hanna, a mother and statistician, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at the Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady.
She was 90.
She was born in Pittsford, Vt., a daughter of the late Rev. Arthur and Margaret Schloop.
She retired from the New York State Department of Labor as a statistician in 1981.
She was a founding member of the Lynnwood Reformed Church in Guilderland.
Her husband of 69 years, Robert G. Hanna Sr., died in 2006.
She is survived by one son, Robert G. Hanna Jr. and his wife, Eleanor, of Hummelstown, Pa.; one daughter, Nancy Lamb and her husband, James, of Collegeville, Pa.; four grandchildren, Lt. Cmdr. Robert G. Hanna III and his wife, Maria, of Groton, Conn., Drew B. Hanna of Exton, Pa., Mary Roelofs of Collegeville, Pa. and Janet Ottey and her husband, Daniel, of Limerick, Pa.; and one great-grandson, Zachary Hanna of Groton, Conn.
She is also survived by one sister, Louise Leonesio, of Williamstown, Mass. and one sister-in-law, Pat Schloop, of Grand Rapids, Mich.
A sister, Irene Liddell, of Pownal, Vt. and a brother, Rev. Lloyd Schloop, of East Jordan, Mich. both died before her.
A funeral service was held Monday at the Lynnwood Reformed Church in Guilderland. Burial was in Schenectady Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont.
