John Pelepzuck

WRIGHT — John Pelepzuck, of Larry Hill Road, died at home on Monday, June 5, 2006, with his family by his side. He had suffered a long illness. He was 82.

Mr. Pelepzuck was born Feb. 13, 1924 in Berne, a son of John and Katy (Medwid) Pelepzuck. He was educated in the Berne schoolhouse along with Middleburgh and Schoharie schools.

He enlisted in the United States Army, where he drove trucks, and served his country from April, 1946 until his honorable discharge in August, 1947.

Mr. Pelepzuck worked at the General Electric Company in Schenectady as a heavy-equipment operator from 1967 until his retirement in 1993. He also worked as a carpenter on the family farm and for several private contractors in the area.

He was a member of the Gallupville Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Gallupville Volunteer Fire Department, and the American Legion Post #1261.

Survivors include: his wife, Helen (Gustavson) Pelepzuck, whom he married on Oct. 3, 1953; his three children, David Pelepzuck and his wife, Debra, of the Town of Wright; Marie Dibble and her husband, Bill, of Berne, and Irene Loucks and her husband, Mark, of the Town of Wright.

He is also survived by six grandchildren: Nichole Cross and her husband, Keith; Travis Pelepzuck; Kathryn Crumb; Kristoffer Crumb; Danielle Loucks; and Deanna Loucks.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Gallupville Evangelical Lutheran Church on Route 443, Gallupville. Burial will follow in the Gallupville Rural Cemetery. Reverend Peter DeBartolo, pastor, will officiate.

Arrangements are by the Langan Funeral Home in Schoharie.
