Helen G. Langenbach

ALTAMONT — Helen G. Langenbach, the mother of ten and a long-time cook for the Voorheesville schools, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home following a long illness. She was 90.

She was a long-time communicant of St. Matthew’s Church in Voorheesville.

Her husband, Edgar Langenbach, died in 1991.

She is survived by her children: Helen Walsh of Altamont; Dorothy Schoonmaker and her husband, Bill, of Altamont; Edna May Mercer and her husband, Bud, of Colonie; Eve Bidosky and her husband, Joe, of Atlanta, Ga.; John Szesnat and his wife, Judi, of Lake Worth, Fla.; Joseph Szesnat and his wife, Mary, of Freehold, N.Y.; Benjamin Salvoe and his wife, Gaitane, of Guilderland; and Paul Lewis and his wife, Jan, of Middletown, N.Y.

She is also survived by one sister, Elizabeth Aviza, of Albany; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Two sons, Larry Szesnat and John O’Leary, died before her.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont. Friends may call on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the German Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in Albany.

Mary R. Lashwa

KNOX — Mary R. Lashwa died on Friday, May 5, 2006, at her home in Knox. She was 59.

She worked for the University at Albany as a supervisor of janitorial services, retiring in 1999.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, David P. Lashwa; one stepdaughter, Shannon Lashwa of East Berne and her partner, James Price; one grandson, Alec Price; one sister, Rose Przysiecki of Knox; two nieces, Alice Dean and Marilyn Rickard; and two nephews, Gerald Nopper Jr. and Robert Nopper.

A funeral service was held on Monday at the Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont. Burial was in Knox Cemetery on Tuesday.

Kelly M. Cross Myers

Kelly M. Cross Myers, a beloved wife, mother, and nurse, of East Amherst, N.Y., formerly of Troy and Berne, died Saturday, May 6,2006, following a long illness.

She graduated from the Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Troy as a registered nurse. She was a long-time labor and delivery nurse in Troy; in Portland, Maine; and in Lewiston, N.Y. and was dearly loved by the many families she cared for.

She also volunteered as a Girl Scout troop leader.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey W. Myers, D.O.; her daughter Merideth L. Myers; her parents, Gerald and Barbara Cross of Berne; her brother Wade Cross and his wife, Cheryl, of Keller, Texas; and her sister Geri Lynn Teta and her husband, Anthony, of Glens Falls, N.Y.

She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Reformed Church of Berne. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Berne.

Terry Lee Plummer

Terry Lee Plummer died on March 10. Family and friends will gather to remember her on May 13 at 2 p.m. at the Voorheesville American Legion.
