Police say that two young children watched parts of an attack where their mother was strangled until she lost consciousness.

The 911 call in a recent domestic violence incident that led to a felony strangulation charge for a Guilderland resident  was made by the accused himself, said Trooper Mark Cepiel, public information officer with the New York State Police.

A jury found Henry Manigault guilty of rape, strangulation, imprisonment, and assault of his intimate partner in Medusa, a hamlet in the town of Rensselaerville.

BERNE — A taxi driver arrested for forcing himself on a customer pleaded guilty in Berne Town Court on Sept. 9 to third-degree assault.

Appearing in Berne Town Court on Jan. 14, Mary Miesowicz and Harold Albright III faced much-reduced charges from their arrests for felony and misdemeanor offenses last March.

A Berne teenager accused of choking his girlfriend as his mother was driving is charged with a reduced offense of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, in addition to two other misdemeanors.
