GUILDERLAND — The town and the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce are honoring local veterans and residents currently in the military by placing pictures of them on banners.

On June 19, Guilderland Town Hall hosted the second annual Hometown Heroes program where new banners were unveiled and some of the new ones were current Guilderland Police officers.

Last Tuesday morning during a ceremony held at Crossgates Mall, Albany County Executive Dan McCoy honored three local veterans while the first annual Military Health Expo went on.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce is holding a Not-For-Profit Volunteer Opportunity Event on May 8 at the Mill Hollow Apartments Community Clubhouse from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The clubhouse is located off of Route 20 at 48 Bavarian Way.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce annually honors local businesses and volunteers who show exemplary qualities in five categories. Nominees for this year’s awards need to be submitted to the chamber by April 19.

The State of the Town event was held at Crossgates’ Lucky Strike Social on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

The new president of Guilderland’s Chamber of Commerce will be a familiar face to many — she took over ownership of Westmere News and Variety on Western Avenue, recasting it as the Route 20 Cafe & Newsstand, about a year-and-a-half ago.

GUILDERLAND — On June 8, the Guilderland Chamber celebrated local businesses — and its 45th anniversary — with its annual awards dinner, held this year at the Appel Inn.

The dinner, catered by Elegant Touch catering, featured small business awards and town beautification awards:
