GUILDERLAND — Incumbents Barbara Fraterrigo and Gloria Towle-Hilt are running again for the Guilderland School Board. They are joined by newcomer Teresa Gitto.

Colleen O’Connell is not seeking a fifth term.

The three-year terms on the nine-member board are at-large and unpaid.

Five candidates — more than have run for years — are seeking two seats on the Berne-Knox-Westerlo School Board in a special election on Feb. 23.

The Voorheesville Public Library has two openings on its board of trustees as it begins to redesign its programs and services.

Florence Reddy, the first woman to serve on the village board in over a decade, owns a deli with her husband, and Brett Hotaling owns landscaping and storage businesses.

Republicans and Democrats in Berne have chosen their candidates for an election in November that will determine who will fill the last year of Bonnie Conklin's term, a councilwoman who resigned at the end of 2013.

John Kudlack, the town's Democratic Committee chairman, said he would like to see younger leadership on the committee and more involvement. 

KNOX — Currently the planning board’s secretary, Independence Party member Pamela Fenoff wants to unseat incumbent supervisor Michael Hammond. She says he has been in the job for too long.

KNOX — Now in his 40th year as the town’s supervisor, Democrat Michael Hammond is running again because he likes the job.

KNOX — The town board’s deputy supervisor and former liaison for the comprehensive plan, Democrat Nicholas Viscio, is seeking a sixth four-year term. He is running on Democratic and Independence Party lines.
