ALTAMONT — Two men that police say have problems with heroin are suspected in an attempted burglary of the village’s self-service laundry.

One suspect has been charged and is out on bail, and another has been identified but not yet apprehended, according to Altamont police.

Jason Rudebush, speeding home from Camp Bisco, was stopped by Altamont Police who found drugs in his car; he says their confiscating his car and money made him desperate.

Sixteen months ago, a speeding driver in Altamont turned out to have illegal drugs and $4,000 cash in his car. The Voorheesville man was coming from music festival Camp Bisco, police said.

Most cars were unlocked in resident's driveways and overnight, from Aug. 8 to 9. Items such as GPS units, sunglasses, and iPods were stolen.

Kimberly Dott, 44, turned herself in to Altamont Police in May.
