Thanks for making the 13th Victorian holiday a success

To the Editor:

Altamont Community Tradition would like to thank everyone who made the 13th Annual Victorian Holiday Celebration a huge success. We are extremely thankful to our gracious house hosts as they opened their historic homes as part of this year’s Holiday House Tour.

Many thanks to our sponsors — the State Employees’ Federal Credit Union, 1st National Bank of Scotia, Key Bank, Altamont Country Values, Santa, and SMS Rail Lines — whose support allowed us to provide the trolley transportation, the Festival of Trees, and the Santa Train.

Thanks to Wunsapana Farms for helping create the beautiful living Nativity organized by the Altamont Reformed Church. We are indebted to the Masons and Noah Lodge No. 754 for the generous use of their hall during the Victorian Holiday Celebration, and throughout the year.

Thank you to all the businesses and organizations that opened their doors for the day and hosted events and activities, and the artisans and crafters who participated in the Winter Market this year. The children were delighted by crafts with Mrs. Red Shoes, Meg, and Pam; and were entertained by “Mac N Tosh” the clown with his balloons. A big thanks to all of you.

The Festival of Trees had 15 beautiful, fun, and clever entries. First prize went to Mrs. Martin’s fourth-grade class at Altamont Elementary School. Second prize went to the Altamont Free Library Third prize went to Dr. Fass and Dr. Edwards and their staff at the dentist office. Thank you to all the groups that participated.

Thanks go out to the 20 community volunteers who decorated lovely wreaths for our silent auction. What a great round up of talent in our community!

Many thanks to all the volunteer members of ACT and their families, and the Friends of ACT who gave their talent, time, energy, and enthusiasm to present a wonderful family event to our community. Happy holidays!
