Quilts at the library

To the Editor:

An art exhibit and sale by members of the Capital Region Textile Artists is being held in the Helderberg Room at the Guilderland Public Library from July 1 through July 31, during library hours.

The exhibition is composed of art quilts. All quilts in the show are fiber based; however, elaboration with beads, paper, fibers, metal, and other materials frequently enhance these pieces.

Various of the works of art are free-hanging, mounted on canvas or are framed. These works of art are of numerous styles, themes, color ways, and moods.

The seven artists included in the show are Helen Farnam, Troy; Barbara Quackenbush, Guilderland; Tina W. Raggio, Delmar; Mary Reich, the Avila of Albany; Nancy Schlegel, Schodack; Lila Smith, Westerlo; and Sue Updike-Porter, Albany.

More information about the show can be obtained by contacting the organizer, Barbara Quackenbush at [email protected].
