Share your treasures in our quilt show

To the Editor:

Quilting is thought to be a very structured activity; choose a pattern and follow it carefully. But that’s not the case at all.

There is room for great originality and creativity in quilt design and execution. This picture features both, and we are trying to determine if this quilt was made using an obscure pattern or is a piece of meticulous originality. If you recognize the design, would you please call Zenie Gladieux at 894-8589?

This quilt, with many other examples of artistry with thread and needle, will be on display at the the Quilts of Berne and Knox Show on Aug. 3, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Quilts made by Knox quilters will be featured at the Knox show; the focus will be on items made by the quilting group that has met for many years at the Knox Reformed Church.

The Berne show will display quilts from the Berne Historical Society collection, some stitched 150 years ago, as well as quilts owned and loved by town residents.

If you have a treasured quilt you would like to have displayed, there is still time to register it. Please call Sandra Stempel Kisselback at 872-0431 (Berne), or Donna Gwin 872-2161 (Knox).
