Break free of cabin fever and let loose on the dance floor

To the Editor:

This year, the members of the Altamont Fire Department are hosting an interactive dinner theater at the Fireman’s Ball on March 22 at the firehouse at 115 Main St.  We are proud to present A Red Hot Wedding, performed by the Home Made Theater group.

This will be a rip-roaring production that will include all of the wedding staples: ceremony; cake-cutting; flower and garter toss; and, of course, dancing!

Doors open for a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. with the “ceremony” starting at 7 p.m.  A buffet dinner will be served shortly following the ceremony.

As with all of our Fireman’s Ball events, beer, wine, soda, and juices are included all night long and for mixers you may bring your own bottle.  We still have tickets available ($30 per person), but you must purchase them by March 15!

Please remember that this is the fire department’s major fund-raiser for the year and this year’s proceeds will help fund our community outreach and recruitment programs.  Volunteer participation numbers across the country have been falling and, since Altamont is a 100-percent volunteer department, we are not immune to this decline.

We need your help now!  To learn how to become a member of the fire department or to purchase tickets to the show, you can stop by the village office or call Kyle Haines at 859-7525.  You can also like us on Facebook for more information.

Who doesn’t love going to a good wedding, right?  This is your chance to break free of that cabin fever and let loose on the dance floor.

You’ll get to meet both sides of the family, their friends, and learn about all of their quirky stories, but most of all have a great time being a part of these two families coming together.  We promise you’ll have a blast attending this “wedding”!

Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at the ball!
