Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

The New Salem Volunteer Fire Department invites you for a tour of our Punkintown Scaregrounds.  We have transformed our fairgrounds into a haunted neighborhood full of spooks, skeletons, scarecrows and surprises.

To the Editor:

I want to thank [Enterprise Hilltown reporter] Marcello Iaia for writing the nice article about the thrift shop that has opened at the Helderberg Evangelical Lutheran Church in Berne.  We were pleasantly surprised how many new people we had visit the shop this past Saturday because of the article.

To the Editor:

This is for everybody in New York State, but mostly for people in the Hilltowns above Albany.

I vote but am lax on town board meetings and school board meeting that impact my life and ours. We can sit back and let others dictate to us or we can get involved.

To the Editor:

As I left the position of Altamont librarian, I heard many kind words from all corners of the community about changes at the library over the past 10 years. I appreciate this greatly.

To the Editor:

In response to the letter from Erin Bradt regarding buying locally raised/grown food ("Know your farmer, know your food," Oct. 9, 2014): You give an admirable description of what your farm, and others like it, are like, and how important they are to reducing our carbon footprint, producing healthy food, etc.
