These local students were named to the dean’s list or similar honors from their college or university for the spring 2020 semester:
 

— Anna Biggane of Delmar, earning High Honors majoring in nutrition & wellness at University of New Hampshire, with a grade-point average of between 3.5 through 3.64;

These local students were named to the spring 2020 dean’s list at University of Rhode Island, with a grade-point average of 3.30 or higher:

— Emme Callender of Altamont;

— Connor Carroll of Slingerlands;

These local students have recently earned diplomas at Western New England University:

 

— Laura DiVirgilio of Voorheesville, graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree;

— Nicholas Crocetta of Delmar, graduated cum laude with a doctor of pharmacy;

If the Capital Region’s metrics hold, movie and film production can start again on July 1 and museums, aquariums, and zoos can open at 25-percent capacity. Other industries will be authorized on an individual basis dependent on associated risk levels and the current health data. Outdoor theme parks, indoor malls, gyms, and movie theaters have not yet been cleared to reopen at the beginning of Phase 4.

On Juneteenth, The Enterprise spoke with Anne Pope, director of the northeast region of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, about the relationship between the Civil Rights Movement a half-century ago and the Black Lives Matter protests, how white people can bring about change, and what local progress looks like. 

Cornell Cooperative Extension is offering video conferences on raising poultery and on raising sheep or goats.

Both courses will cover acquiring your animals, breeds, feeding, and basic health care. Questions are encouraged.
