“Today is a new chapter for the park,” said by Mark King, director of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy, on Wednesday morning at the opening of the 214-acre Bozenkill Preserve just outside the village of Altamont. The preserve, located at the corner of Westfall and Bozenkill roads, has two walking trails and is open to the public from dawn till dusk.

One of many falls along the Bozenkill, this one is on private property and not part of the new preserve. The picture was taken in 1959 by John Wolcott on a spring hike along the stream.
