The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs and the Guilderland Dutchmen raced in the 47th Guilderland International Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Tawasentha Park in Guilderland.

Running in a pack: Bulldog Michelle Puzulis, right, races with teammates Caroline Mundell and Kristen Hanley at the start of the 2.86-mile small-school varsity race. Puzulis finished second with a time of 20:06.06 while Mundell finished 11th and Hanley finished in 28th place. The BKW girls’ team finished in fifth place with 110 points.

With a breeze through his hair: BKW’s Travis Jackson finished seventh with a time of 17:17.58. The BKW boys’ team didn’t place since it only fielded three runners.

Easy as pie: Guilderland’s Noah Tindale runs past cheering teammates, as he heads for the finish line. Tindale won the race with a time of 15:01.51 and the Guilderland boys’ team finished in third place with 51 points.

Running together: Dutch’s Alexa Thompson, front, and Alexis Anagnostopulos sprint down the hill toward the finish line in the girls’ large-school varsity race. Anagnostopulos passed Thompson and finished fourth with Thompson just behind her in fifth place en route to win the girls’ championship against two other schools.
