For 14 years, the Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team had reached the Class A sectional finals. But on Monday afternoon, at home, the Dutch witnessed a buzzsaw in Bethlehem that led from the opening whistle to the final buzzer and the Dutch, seeded second, lost, 14 to 3.

Unable to break the defense, Guilderland's Jamie Golderman, surrounded by six defenders, couldn’t get close to the net in the second half but was fouled on the play. Unable to score a string of goals as usual, the Dutch players were stopped in their tracks by a solid Bethlehem game plan.
