Proudly marching up Main Street during Sunday’s Memorial Day parade in Altamont is a contingent from the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps of the Navy Operational Support Center in Glenville. The program serves youths ages 13 to 17.

Petty Officer Dennis Cyr and Sergeant Patti Ruiz place a wreath to honor the more than 93,000 members of the armed forces whose last known status was as prisoners of war or missing in action. The event was sponsored by the Helderberg American Legion and VFW posts, and the grand marshals were World War II veteran William James and Gold Star Mother Dawn Martin.
