Guilderland’s varsity gymnastics team battled in sectionals on Feb. 10  at Shaker High School to get a spot in the state tournament on Feb. 27.

Back flip to states: Emily Borges flips on the floor exercise, scoring 8.55 on Wednesday and qualifying for states; she qualified for the vault with a score of 8.925 and balance beam with a score of 8.875.

Finishing off her floor-exercise routine with a smile Marina Christman bends backwards as the song ends. Christman scored 7.55 in the event. The last member going to states is Megan Szesnat. Szesnat will compete in the uneven parallel bars where she scored 8.35. Overall, the Dutch finished second in sectionals with a score of 166.225, nine points behind Section 2 champion Saratoga.
