The Enterprise provides in-depth coverage for communities in Albany County. All news, features, and photographs that appear in the print edition also appear online. Online ads may be purchased on any hub page, but not the website’s home page. The hub pages are available to the public, free of charge and generate the most traffic. Paid subscribers may read stories and see pictures behind the paywall.
The hub pages include Opinion (such as editorial, letters, columns), News (for Guilderland, Hilltowns, New Scotland, and Regional), Sports (for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Guilderland, and Voorheesville), Community (including Out & About, Library notes, Senior news, Student Kudos, and Correspondents), and Calendar (with a daily listing of local events), as well as for Special Sections.
Online ads, which are 165 pixels wide and 190 pixels deep, are sold in conjunction with print ads and are purchased on a four-week basis for $65; this fee includes complimentary design. Ads may feature a pop-up .pdf when clicked or, alternatively, may be linked to the advertiser’s website. Online ads may start in any week and will run for four weeks.
For advertisers without a website, The Enterprise will build one, which is yours to keep and further your business’s reach independent of advertising with The Enterprise.
For a one-time fee of $350, you will receive a business profile of up to five pages, with Twitter and Facebook feeds, if desired. You must provide the text and photos you wish to display and you must pay for the domain.
You’ll receive two free reviews of your site, where changes can be made to your liking. (Any further changes in weeks, months, or years ahead would require you to pay a maintenance charge of $40 per hour, with a minimum of one hour.)
In the print edition, the first 20 words or fewer cost $18; each additional word costs 35 cents. To repeat the 20 words or fewer the cost is $11.00 plus the same charge of 35 cents for each additional word.
All text-only, classified print ads will run for free online at AltamontEnterprise.com.
The deadline for receiving ad copy is Wednesday at noon for publication in the next day’s paper.

In the print edition, the cost to run a legal notice is 39-and-a-half cents per line, and 30-and-a-half cents per line for repeats. To run a legal notice two times, the cost is 70 cents per line; three times, $1.01 per line; four times, $1.31 per line; six times, as required for an LLC, $1.92 per line. For example, to run a 10-line LLC ad for the required six weeks would cost $19.20, plus a $6.00 affidavit charge for a total of $25.20.

Rates: Display ads are sold on a weekly, four-week, eight-week, 12-week, and 24-week basis with pricing based on size and frequency. For every four weeks of print advertising purchased, a four-week web ad may be purchased for $65.
The rate per column inch for print ads is $12.10. For a four-week run, the price is reduced to $11.65; for eight weeks, to $11.25; for 12 weeks to $11.00; for 24 weeks, to $10.70.
Complimentary ad design is included in the price of an ad as long as it takes less than one hour. A composition rate of $56 per hour will be pro-rated in quarter-hour increments for any advertisement requiring more than one hour. Advertisers will be notified in advance of these charges. Advertisements canceled prior to publication are subject to charges for composition, artwork, and handling.
The deadline for reserving ad space and submitting copy is Monday at 2 p.m. for publication on Thursday. For an ad that requires a proof, the deadline is the previous Friday at noon. The deadline for canceling an ad is Monday at 2 p.m.
To e-mail an ad, send in a PDF format with all fonts and images embedded.
The Enterprise can accept Adobe Pagemaker, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Quark files. Include all graphics and fonts and compress the files using WinZip (PC) or Stuffit (Mac). The compressed file size should not exceed 2 MB. If it does, make arrangements with your advertising representative to drop off or mail a CD or Zip disk.
If an ad is designed in a Microsoft word file, it must be converted to a PDF before being sent. Since The Enterprise is Mac-based, word programs often lose their formatting converting from PC to Mac.
The Enterprise does not accept Microsoft Publisher files.

Ad sizes are measured in picas for column width and in inches for column length. A full-page ad is five columns wide and 15-and-three-quarters inches long.
