Free tax help

VOORHEESVILLE — Tax-Aide, run by the American Association of Retired Persons, will once again be preparing income tax returns at St. Matthew’s Parish Center in Voorheesville beginning in February 2014.

Each year, from early February through April 15, AARP Tax-Aide volunteers prepare and electronically file federal and state tax returns for low- and middle-income taxpayers, with special attention to those aged 60 and older.

Volunteers, who are trained and certified by the Internal Revenue Service, also provide free electronic filing of tax returns including direct deposit of refunds, etc.

Appointments are required.

Tax return preparation will begin at St. Matthew’s Parish Center starting Friday, Feb. 21, and on three additional Fridays: Feb. 28, March 7 and March 28.

To make an appointment, call the Parish Office at 765-2805.
